I Wrote this poem during my period of service at the Baha'i World Center, in Haifa, Israel.
When Nobleness has lost its meaning,
Where will you be?
When the earth shatters Reality,
How will you be?
When no sacrifice shall be seen,
No soul other to be in the dream,
When it seems that the Angels of fire
Have died because of the world's desire
Where will you be?
Will you be a light? Will you be a lover?
Will you be around, or lying in your cover?
When thunder shouts and shots are heard,
Will you still be trying to fly like a bird?
When children cry because of foolish insanes,
Will your heart be amongst those who keep the flamme?
Will your spirit be on fire when the world burns?
Will you go higher and higher when the joy turns
Into sufferings, unbearable, all around,
And bodies fall, one by one, with the cry of no sound?
Will your sword of service be shattered,
And your temple of justice battered,
When no hope seems to be desperately seen
And your closest ones leave you with nothing?
O Lord! I beg You! Never let my ship sink.
Make my faith move it through the waves of unbearable things.
Please Lord, forget not my love, for You and yours
And send on my sail blowing winds from your shores,
Of might and courage.
Please Lord! Blessed Beauty! Do it when the time comes.
Make us strong, everywhere.
Make us strong, Lord, for how will we be?
